About

Sylvia Tran is a writer exploring themes of identity, culture, and belonging. She lives and writes on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations in Vancouver, BC. Her work has been published in Geist, Ricepaper, filling Station, and emerge 25: The Writer’s Studio Anthology (Tidewater Press 2025). She is a graduate of the SFU Writer’s Studio program.

With a background in publishing, she has worked at Geist, Ricepaper, NUVO, MONTECRISTO, Raincoast Books, and the Vancouver Public Library. She has spent over a decade working with books and magazines—revitalizing publications, running circulation and publicity campaigns, and supporting Canadian authors.

She is passionate about storytelling and dedicated to amplifying diverse voices in Canadian literature, particularly BIPOC representation.
